Not every plantain sucker grows the same — we selectively raise sword suckers, which establish faster and produce more reliable bunches than water suckers. Every sucker we supply is checked by hand for disease before it leaves the nursery.

Plantain does best in loamy soil enriched with organic matter — work in compost or manure before planting.
A thick mulch layer retains moisture and suppresses weeds around the shallow root system.
Remove excess suckers, leaving one or two followers per mat so energy goes into the main stem and bunch.
As bunches mature and gain weight, prop the stem to prevent it from bending or snapping.
